Daily life is a series of ups and downs, and just like you, I try my best to navigate through it all while searching for meaning and happiness – sometimes in all the wrong places. But with a few simple adjustments, life can be much easier and a lot happier. Hint – happiness is usually an inside job, so self-awareness and self-love are a big part of my schtick. I value spiritual food as much as physical food, which makes me a double “foodie” and probably why I got this gig writing for hdcooking.tv!
Like all stereotypical Italian/American girls from “Da Bronx”, NY, I love to cook, eat and entertain. Thankfully, I also love to work out which helps burn off all that pasta! My passion for food and fitness started in childhood thanks to my Italian immigrant mother who put my sisters and me to work in the kitchen early on and then made us exercise with her to the Jack LaLanne show. Millennials, let me explain. Before the Internet, YouTube videos and health apps, there was a show on TV where a handsome, muscular guy in a fitted one-piece jumpsuit demonstrated exercises to stay-at-home moms who wanted to be in shape and watch a little eye candy! Seriously…google him. Today I do lots of different kinds of work-outs from power walking to biking to trampoline jumping, but my favorite is to crank up some funky music and dance like no one is watching. No one actually is watching except my dog who looks at me like I’m crazy.
